Member Spotlight: Duke’s Public House
Trader Duke’s in South Burlington has served and welcomed many patrons over the decades. Countless stories have been shared and memories made aside the warm fireplace and cozy bar. After much time and consideration, the owners, Rich Burlington LLC, decided it was time for their well-loved restaurant be reinvented and reborn.
The restaurant closed its doors in July to make way for a totally new floor design and aesthetic updates. As travelers passed through South Burlington this year it was clear that Trader Duke’s was undergoing a total exterior and interior transformation. Now called Duke’s Public House, the new name pays homage to the traditional 19th century gathering place where people would go to seek food, shelter, and connection.

Duke’s Public House welcomes visitors with its sleek, contemporary design that invokes “big city” vibes yet maintains the cozy feel of a Vermont hotel. The modern décor includes a vibrant bar scene serving up 10 taps, seasonal microbrews and an elaborate wine list. The built-in fireplace is nestled by a pristine community table and serves as the focal point of the room, surrounded by tables of varying sizes and types. Guests may enjoy sitting at a high-top in the lounge area or in the private dining area at a table or booth.
